Using the Voice4mail iPhone app
Click here to download the Voice4mail users guide in PDF format. Why do I have to activate my account?
We require account activation because we need to verify the legitimate use of the Voice4mail servers for sending email and Voice4mail messages. My password doesn't work when I try to activate or log in!
The password and email address are CASE SENSITIVE. When initially setting up Voice4mail on your iPhone or iPod touch, the app will display the user name (email address) and password that will be used to establish your account. If either of them appear incorrect, take the time to fix it before you submit. If you are activating your account on the Voice4mail web site using your iPhone or iPod Touch, please be careful to check that the first character of your password is not being capitalized. We have 'turned off' autocorrect and autocapitalize on the password form fields, but please pay attention to the FIRST character of the password as you are typing.
If all else fails, please feel free to contact techsupport@voice4mail.com and we'll get you working.
I never received my Voice4mail activation email!
We've noticed quite a few activation emails being undeliverable because of obviously incorrect email addresses (like 'gmai.com' and 'gmail.co'). Please check the email address on your iPhone or iPod Touch using the Voice4mail settings screen by selecting the gear icon at the bottom left of the screen. If your email looks right, check your junk mail and see if the activation email is there.
We have also heard from a fairly large number of AOL (America Online) and Comcast users that they never received their activation email OR it arrived up to 27 hours later because AOL or Comcast are somehow delaying delivery. If you're on AOL or Comcast, please allow up to a day for the email to arrive. If, after that, you don't receive your activation email, please contact your provider (Comcast or AOL) and request that they unblock Voice4mail.com emails.
If none of the above are the case, go to http://voice4mail.com/content/resend.cfm to have your activation email sent to you again.
My Voice4mail messages aren't being delivered!
Nearly all the Voice4mail messages we've seen being rejected are because the destination email address is typed incorrectly. Look, we know that typing on the iPhone is a challenge if you have adult size fingers, so don't be embarassed. We have added a feature that will notify you (via your Voice4mail inbox on your iPhone or iPod Touch) when a Voice4mail messages hasn't been delivered because of an email error. We've seen some messages rejected by the recipient's email host, probably because they're considered spam of some sort. We've worked really hard at NOT being a source of junk email and also not being erroneously considered a source of junk email. Once our notification feature is in place, you will be better able to identify when and why messages aren't delivered.
The password on my iPhone is twice as long as when I entered it!
We store your password in encrypted format on your iPhone, so the displayed length (the number of dots) does NOT indicate the length of your password.Using the Voice4mail.com web site
Log in using the user id and password form at the top of the screen or, if you have a mobile device, select the login button from the Voice4mail home page.I want to send a Voice4mail message to a mobile device that isn't web-enabled.
Sorry, Voice4mail makes extensive use of web technology and delivers Voice4mail messages through the web site if people don't have an iPhone or iPod Touch (with Voice4mail installed).I forgot my password!
